I know as I write this I am preaching to the converted when I say that Morzine is quite possibly one of the best spots to be based for mountain bikers in the Alps. Our beautiful resort is based in the heart of the stunning Portes de Soleil with fantastic tracks on either side of the valley on Pleney or Super Morzine . The village is also awash with a fantastic choice of bike rental shops, experienced guides and those all-important feeding and watering holes which are vital at the end of a long day up the mountain.
Is there really any need to go further afield during your stay in Morzine? Maybe not….
However, if you want an easy solution to get you, your mates and your bikes further afield read on. No more arguing who is driving, no more bikes rattling around in the back of a pick up or removing wheels to squeeze your bike in the boot….
Hopefully you will already have seen our flyers around town (if you are lucky enough to be out here at the moment of course) or have seen our posts on social media advertising our “Beat the queues” shuttle to the top of the Avoriaz road. This is our regular daily service* for those of you who want to get deeper into the Portes de Soleil at the beginning of the day. Our aim is simply to offer a speedy, hassle free service to help you make the most of the runs all over the area. Hit the runs in Switzerland or Chatel in the morning and head back into France later in the day!
A little further afield are the runs of the Grand Massif. Drop down into Samoens from the top of Les Gets and we will meet you at the end of your day and bring you back to Morzine. I mean, who wants to pedal up the Joux Plane road after a day on a mountain bike?!
Lower down the Dranse valley from Morzine is the glorious Roc d’Enfer area. Cross country track guides are available on www.rocdenfer.com. Slighly further down the valley is the up and coming Col de Corbier area above the Biot village. Deemed too low to survive as a ski resort, this beautiful part of the world is making a name for itself under the label “montagne douce” and is a great spot for walkers, trail runners and…enduro/cross country biking.
If you are interested in our bike shuttle service up to La Joux Verte, private excursions/pick-ups further afield, recommendations for bike rental, guiding or even where to get a decent pint at the end of the day please do not hesitate to contact me on 0677411164 or info@taxi-morzine.com https://taxi-morzine.com/events/
